Thriller mood board

Thriller mood

Typical thriller shots: birds eye/high angle. This is used in thriller to make the antagonist look bigger stronger and made the person he is standing over look power less. they would use close ups to show the expression of the character which create mystery.tacking or panning shot. these connotes movement. this is very effective in thriller films to make the character look like their trapped or being followed by the antagonist. it could also establish a scene so the audience can see the area and the view of the location.thriller can used this to create suspense because when the camera is moving there is a build of suspense and tension because you don't know what is going to be shown next.

Thrillers also you close up shots to show expression on the characters faces. this movie use close up to show everyone's expressions and emotions without speaking. this used all lot in thrillers to create suspense and tension. in this movie one character doesn't have the ability to speak so the audience so the facial expression is the only thing the audience see. tide shots add all lot of dramatic tension to shots, pushing and moving the camera. it is also a great way to get a different shot of an incident across to the audience. over the shoulder is another good one because it creates an affect of the antagonist is following you around or is getting closer and closer.

Typical editing skills: thrillers would cut certain scenes and make them short and snapping to create tension. this trailer cuts to comments made by people about the movie and back to the trailer to create tension and suspense. thrillers would use the editing skill of having certain sounds and they would appear when they would reveal something new on the case the protagonist is working on this would create enigma and the audience would be more on the edge of their seat. another editing skill is putting some music over to set the general tone for the film and what time period the movie is set. this could work for a thriller because the music could be for the antagonist so dark deep toned music would be played to show what kind of person the antagonist is. this could also work for the protagonist because the music could tell the audience what kind of person the protagonist is and how they are going be seen throughout the film.
