High heels. The effect of high heels is repetitive. The sound effects that are used in the beginning of the opening sequence is Naomi walking in heels when she's going to the Café . This is suitable for the opening sequence because when you wear heels this shows maturity. Also, when you're wearing heels there's a change in how you act, as you act more older then you are , and you feel like you fit in. This is exactly what Naomi is showing, her appearance is shown is mature as she's wearing heels . Wearing heels can also make Naomi feel more confident about herself , as she's walking. Naomi is also the main character of the opening sequence, you can hear the catchy sound of her walking in heels makes her get a lot of attention from the audience which is what's needed for a main character. As I mentioned the sound of the heels is repetitive and therefore sticks in your head , this shows the audience that Naomi is going somewhere alone , and she's independent. I've chosen this effect because this shows how society is like today. Women are the one's that wear heels, while Men don't often wear heels, and when they wear heels, they are often classified as homosexual. Therefore the audience will know which gender the character is when they wear heels which is usually female, as they're more accepted in wearing heels. I feel like the video below will be suitable for the sound we would want in the opening sequence, because the sound of the high heels is more louder, as well as the video being more longer, therefore you're more engaged with the video. Phone ringing The effect of Naomi's phone ringing is agitation. The sound of the phone ringing is suitable for our opening sequence. Because when Naomi is walking down the streets with her high heels , her phone is constantly ringing , while she's going in the café. This is clearly a phone call that Naomi wants to avoid. Nevertheless she refuses to answer the phone call . I think the phone ringing is usual because the more the phone keeps ringing , the more the tension builds up , and Naomi feels more anxious as she is scared about the phone call. This creates an enigma on what the phone call can be about. I've chosen this affect because the phone ringing causes agitation for Naomi and therefore she tries to avoid her phone call. However she can't escape reality and she knows that she has to prepare herself in order to answer the phone call. This can also be relatable for the audience because aswell as the audience wondering what the phone call can be about, the audience can also find the phone call annoying and they can feel agitated aswell. The video above shows the example that I want for the opening sequence, because the sound of the phone ringing is much louder and this is what's needed for the opening sequence , since the phone ringing is what causes Naomi stress. Tapping The effect of tapping is anxiety. The tapping on the table is suitable for the opening sequence because as Naomi goes into the Café , she is already nervous about the phone ringing, therefore her tapping on the table in the café shows us that she's trying to distract herself as she's anxious about the phone call. More tension is then created because no matter how much Naomi's tapping the table, the phone is continuously ringing. Therefore Naomi if feeling more pressurised into replying to the call. I've chosen this effect because this effect adds to the ultimate example on Naomi trying to distract herself from reality by tapping her fingers on the table in a café , since she's out because she wants to distract herself from the phone call. The video below is the tapping that I favour more because you can feel more of the anxiety in that the tapping , than the video above. Door ringing The door bell sound is suitable for the opening sequence , because when you usually open a door , the door then makes a sound , this is what's needed when Naomi goes into the Café , there should be a door sound in the scene. The door bell scene above is more suitable because the sound is more realistic. Heartbeat sound-this creates more tension. This creates effect because this shows that Naomi is in different locations as she's trying to get her mind off the phone call she's receiving. The heartbeat sound is suitable for the opening sequence because the heartbeat sound is going to be loud , therefore this is noticeable. This can be used because Naomi is taking stress from the phone call she is receiving , therefore the heartbeat sound can create tension as this reflects how Naomi is coping with the phone call she's receiving. I've chosen this effect because this is relatable , as when you're under stress you experience changes in your body. One of the changes in your body can be your heart rate increasing. This is what Naomi is going through , and this can be relatable to the audience . Also the heartbeat sound , suggests to us that there's an unexpected event that will be witnessed. The heartbeat sound in the video above has more emphasise and creates more anxiety therefore I will rather use the video above then the video below.
