Café

The Café in the opening sequence of scene 1 is in a private residential area, this is local to where Naomi lives. It is an area low in crime, the properties are large and expensive.
as this is an residential as the homes represent that our main character Naomi lives in a area where it's a safe area as the number of houses symbolize an local, friendly area. We will use the café for scene one as we will film our main character Naomi entering the café .
In the beginning, the scene is film outside (EXT) when Naomi is walking towards the café feeling very agitated while her phone is ringing. This advices us that going to the café may help Naomi clear her mind , as she's distracting herself by going out.
The Café will also be filmed in the inside (INT) , as after Naomi enters the café, the scene dissolves to Naomi being inside the Café .In this scene Naomi will immediately pick up her phone and answer. This symbolises that no matter how much she tries to distract herself, she can't get her mind off reality, and this call may be what happens in her daily life.
Filming in the Café will be easy as the location of the Café is close to where we live . Also the space of the Café is what we need , as the Café is crowded and this is an advantage as this makes the scene more realistic. Also the lighting of the Café is very high lighting as this is an brand new café which can make the opening sequence's time period set in the modern day.
The Café matches my vision very well , because the Café makes the opening sequence more realistic and more formal as the Café is more of an environment for Adults. Also Naomi wants to be by herself which creates more independence, and that's what you need as you get older more independence and Naomi is showing this.
We can use the Café in the opening sequence, we can ask the person who's in charge if we can film , and the Café is available until 7pm , therefore this is less time consuming.
School Canteen

The School Canteen is our backup location if were not able to film in the café . The school canteen is an decent backup as the canteen will be in our school, therefore we will have the facilities to use the canteen in our school . Also we are used to going in the canteen , and therefore this can help make our opening sequence more realistic.
At the beginning of the opening sequence, we will film Naomi entering the school canteen as she's walking through the stairs. This builds up tension on where Naomi is going , so she can be independent and take her mind from her phone ringing. The scene will then dissolve into Naomi inside the school canteen alone , answering her phone. I think this would be an advantage as the scene of Naomi walking in the canteen to Naomi inside her canteen, symbolises how Naomi wants to find independence and avoid reality which doesn't work out.
Filming in the canteen will be easy because the canteen is in the school, and the school has a lot of space available , as well as in the canteen as there's a lot of chairs. Also the lighting of the canteen is high key lighting therefore this makes our opening sequence modern.
We have permission to use the school canteen from our teacher , and we can use the canteen in our free periods, therefore using the canteen is time fitting, as well as available.
Using the school canteen matches my vision more as an backup , because I feel like using the café is more suitable for an adult environment , while using the school canteen isn't . The School Canteen also lacks creativity , while using the café is more creative as this is set outside of school , which shows us taking our filming to the next level and being more open and imaginative rather then just staying in a school.
Warehouse
Using a warehouse will be used when Naomi is answering a phone call from a unknown man. The unknown man will be inside the warehouse. This creates tension as the warehouse is abandoned, this creates a dark, isolated image of the unknown man . The unknown man will be wearing black clothes in order to blend in with the dark atmosphere. This symbolises that he is evil. The warehouse will be filmed inside .(INT)
We have all the space we need when using the warehouse , since the warehouse is empty. Also the lighting is great for the atmosphere were trying to create. Since the lighting is low-key, were trying to create an dark atmosphere with the low-key lighting.
Using the warehouse will match my vision as we can blend the dark atmosphere around the unknown man as well as the light atmosphere around Naomi .This can then create tension , as there are in different locations yet the innocent character is more affected mentally then the unknown man.
We can ask permission to use the warehouse, also the warehouse is available .
School basement
The School basement will be used instead if the warehouse doesn't work out . The school basement will be filmed inside (INT), when the unknown man talks. Using the school basement will also be easy to film because there's enough space and there's low-key lighting to create a dark atmosphere which shows the unknown man being the antagonist . This also matches the vision I have , as the antagonist should be shown as an dark character, which the school basement reflects. We could ask permission to use the school basement from the staff members in school , and the school basement can be available in school time or after school , which makes using the school basement convenient. However I want the warehouse to be my first option because the warehouse is much more bigger , therefore more space is there , and the warehouse has more low-key lighting. Therefore the warehouse creates more of an darker image then the school basement in my opinion.
Were also being more active using a warehouse outside the school , and not just sticking in a school.
